This workshop is ideal for anyone interested in learning how to use Copic markers, especially art and design students looking to develop their skills or those who use adult mindfulness colouring books.

The course is open to all levels of experience. The focus is on playing with markers and other drawing instruments, as a meditative act for enjoyment, or to develop your skills in an educational or work setting.

What are Copic markers?

Copic Markers are alcohol-based markers that are ideal for rendering your drawings to look like three-dimensional pieces of art. They have a unique blending ability, which can be used for sketching, colouring in, technical drawings, fashion and product design, and life drawing. In this class you will learn about the Copic colour coding system, which colours to use together to achieve beautifully graduated drawings, and a range of colouring techniques focusing on creating the illusion of depth and texture in your sketches.

Markers were first popularised by Japanese Manga artists and were later appropriated by the post war advertising agencies in the US, who saw the benefits of quickly sketching ideas for clients without using traditional art mediums. They are the drawing instrument of choice by product, graphic and fashion designers for quick conceptual drawings.

Please note: All classes require a minimum of 6 participants to go ahead. In the event of a workshop being cancelled, your booking will be fully refunded or transferred to another workshop or date.
